MAGGIE MAE MAGAZINE endeavors to enhance, enrich, excite, and energize the hearts of women in the Heart of Florida. We are an upbeat magazine and 'serious subjects' should have an upbeat tone.

All articles and essays for consideration should be submitted in their entirety and be between 800-1200 words. Submission of over 1200 words will not be considered. Payment for articles and essays, at this time, is not available. We reserve the right to edit articles for length and content.

Format:
You may send your manuscript via e-mail to maggiemae@maggiezine.net. It can be accepted as a pdf for review, but we will need the final as a Word document or RTF.

If you wish your manuscript to be returned, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE).

Bio:
Please enclose a very brief (2-3 sentences) biographical sketch with your cover letter or manuscript so that it is available if we print your article. Submissions without bio, name, phone, or address will not be considered.

Deadlines:
We read submissions continually. Please check the Editorial Calendar so that if you have a specific article with a specific theme we can match them. The deadline for such submissions is the 1st of the previous month. (November 1st for Christmas article.)

We cannot guarantee publication. Even when an article is selected for inclusion in an issue, it may be pulled at the last minute due to lack of space. This is not our practice but often this is unavoidable.

Tips:

• Please pick up our magazine and become familiar with our format and content.
• Serious subject should have an upbeat tone.
• We generally do not accept articles written by men.

Response time:
We try to respond as quickly as possible but due to volume of submissions this is not always possible. After 6-8 weeks with no response, please inquire via e-mail.

Cover Art:
Each month we feature the work of a woman artist on the cover. If you would like to be considered, you may submit digital photos of your work via e-mail (maggiemae@maggiezine.net)

We do not pay for cover art but publish a brief bio and information on how you can be contacted.
