James Shepp, director of the Maitland Art Center, guided artist, Dorothy Gillespie to a chair placed in the enclosed garden behind the Center. She walks slowly and with a cane but that is the only thing about Dorothy that would cause you to wonder about her age. She is vital and animated and speaks inspiration to the 100 or so guests gathered there to soak up her words of wisdom about life, art and the current installation of her sculptures in the garden.
